Hi All!!

I will be starting session 5 tomorrow.
I am on week 7 of the Curves diet/exercise
program (going through the diet phase twice).
I have gone from weighing 154 lbs to weighing 144 lbs! (I am 5'6) My pants and shirts are fitting better and when I get down to 140 I'll be slapping on my bikini again!!
Gonna hit the local indoor pool just cause!!

I am also off coffee completely - have started
drinking caffeine free teas - there are lots of
them available - here and there.

I drink over two litres of water every day.

Did this happen overnight? No. was it a process over time? Yes. Was it easy? Well, surprisingly enough, it was just a matter of me getting over myself in the way I thought about exercise. I started working out on May 1st this year.

What changes are you guys and gals making in your lives when it comes to health and fitness?

Please share Wink

I started Session 5 on Monday 10/6. I am usually pretty active I know I feel so much better when I am active. I love to run/walk; so I started that last week I also went to a Yoga class tonight. I just get really discouraged..........I'm 48 yrs old; I had breast cancer in 2005; in 2006 I had to have a complete hysterectomy(misspelled). Now I have gone into menopause and I can't lose any weight. I don't gain because I stay active, but I would love to lose about 20 lbs. It's that extra roll of fat around the mid-section. My doctor even told me "that is part of getting old" YUCK! I don't think so. I kicked breast cancer why can't I kick this gut. OK........let me get back on the subject. I have been writing down everything I eat. I am a big time morning coffee drinker. I have cut back from about 8 cups to about 2 cups. I'm trying to go caffeine free. I'm going to start drinking green tea and decaf drinks. I always drink alot of water. So I am good there.

Good Luck to everyone this week whereever you are in your journey. We will make it and beat it.

Hi There,
It sounds like both of you are doing very well. Congratulations.
I started week 5 on Saturday 10/4. I have decreased my coffee drinking to just decaf and really haven't noticed much difference in myself yet. I just hope it doesn't hit me all at once. I've worked out for most of my life but for the past couple of years I've been off and on. I started back on the treadmill this week and plan on getting back to the gym this week also. I'm a little dissapointed in myself because I'm still not feeling totally motivated.
I am also starting to change my diet, for the better of course. This is a lot to do all at once but I know myself pretty well and I'll do it.

Best of luck

Hi Debbie and JoeM Smiler

I am now on lesson 7 on how to be assertive. I love this stuff! All my life I thought other people had more rights than I did and mattered more than I did. Well, no more. The old stuff does creep in here and there but now I have tools to nip it in the bud Wink

Lesson 6 was tough for me because I was taught that anger was not okay - except for my father's anger Wink So I was a great stuffer of anger all my life until now. Initially when I realized that I too can be angry and it is okay for me to feel angry, well, I think I laced into some people a tad hard, but now I think I am levelling off quite well, as Lucinda says we will on her cd's.

I'm loving this jurney of self-discovery and self-love and respecting and honoring myself.

Love to you all!!
