hi davidagarcia...i'm new too, and all the messages and lessons are overwhelming to me, for obvious reasons since i just started here, and am trying to stay OFF medications (i've tryed a lot). If you just want to talk to someone who might understand a lot...or just someone who replies, i'm gonna try the online forum cuz i can't afford the whole program right now. email, or IM or just reply, i'll try to get back to you if you reply. Peace
duh. forgot to mention the reason i picked your message to reply...i have really bad chest pains when i get excited/stressed/frustrated etc. it makes me worry sometimes...all the time i guess
Hi. Chest pain is a common symptom of anxiety. It's one of the major ones I have struggled with.
First, get a medical check-up to reassure yourself. Then you will be armed with the TRUTH -that the chest pains are just anxiety symptoms.
Then you can use the skills taught in this program (or you can look for books on how to deal with anxiety).
I know how hard it is to live with this and how scary it can be. It can steal your life away. But you can overcome this. I first started this program in 1999, and I have come a long way. I know you can, too.

I, too, often have chest discomfort. It's more of a tightness though instead of pain. No matter how hard I try, I can't take a deep breath. I feel like people would think I'm crazy if they knew I felt like this. I tell myself that it is just anxiety and I'm really O.K., but it doesn't seem to help. Actually, the more I think about it, the worse it gets. Anyone have any suggestions?
i ALso have chest pain alot. I just went to the er again lastnight he told me again it was that i was stressing out to much. He told mr to go home and relax. But i havent really figured out how to do that yet. Just stay positive.

Hi I have had a lot of chest pain in the past also. The way I delt with it was to just relax and tell yourself its just anxiety and it will pass. The relaxtion tape was wonderful for me during that time. If you don't have the tape you need to get it as soon as possible. Just remember it will go away.
