I first did the program about 4 years ago. It did some good at the time but seemed to fade away. Since that time I tried psychotherapy and had the good fortune to encounter an exceptional therapist. The MC program had done a good job the first time around of providing me with cognitive tools to improve my life. However I had suffered deep protracted trauma and was unaware of the subconscious emotional elements of that. At least having done the MC program I had enough awareness, wisdom and courage to go into therapy. Under the therapists direction was created a safe enough place to explore the trauma. I couldn't believe how immense an effect subconscious emotional trauma and denial could have on creating fear and avoidance and controlling my life. After 2 years of therapy I began to realize that therapy had now played itself out and to continue it would be ineffective and just plain needy and dependant. I decided to discontinue using the therapist at !!!!!!$ an hour (however this person was definitely worth every cent). I've bid him ado and am back with the program. I've just finished reviewing the introduction material, video and audio and wow! It has such a clearer and deeper meaning now that my emotions and intellect are working together instead of masking each other. I'm greatly looking forward to retaking this journey. I see with great enthusiasm that it will be soooo much more effective in relieving the chronic anxiety and depression, addictions, and codependency that I've suffered for 37 years. My condition had its origins in severe child abuse. As I've aged the condition also began to show some symptoms of OCD and adult ADD. I can't tell you all how happy I am to have this program now and to be in a place where I know that learning and using these skills will help cure and be a long term solution for me. I feel that now my life truly begins. I'm looking forward to dialogues with others that are using this program.

It was so wonderful to read your new post.
It is full with such a positive, good and compassionate attitude.
That is where the truth is, and that is where you'll find your way to healing from anxiety, OCD and depression.
Not in fear or in negative thinking,
even though anxiety often makes us believe it's the other way around.
It's clear you fully understand this and are on your way.
I'm getting there too!
I wish you all the best with the program your 2nd time around.
I think of it as a great maintenace and "life" tool.
It is such a wonderful program- and you are right-
It is going to help you to heal and to overcome for life!

Proud Mama
Thanks for taking the time to respond and for the encouragement. I'm sure that if the anxiety, OCD and depression are relieved that the addictions will be easy to deal with. I'm talking about coffee and cigarettes here. I've used cigarettes to self medicate anxiety and coffee for depression.

I wish you all the best as well.

I'm glad you are getting there too.
It's wonderful to here that a stay at home mom is working on herself this way. Not only is that of great service to yourself, but to your family (especially the children) and all society as well.

Congradulations. Smiler
