Wow, I feel like I can't get a grip on my anxiety right now. The past two weeks I feel I've taken major steps backwards. My career is great(thankfully) but we have major initiatives taking off and it's a bit overwhelming. As well, there are multiple other things that are cluttering my mind...finances, my grandfathers sickness, my investments, my strained rotator cuff. I just can't seem to let it all go. If I manage to relax during the day it all comes to the forefront at 1am and then I don't sleep. If I don't sleep then the cycle repeats the next day. What can I do?

I would encourage you to listen to your relaxation CD - even at 1 a.m., maybe especially at 1 a.m.! Try the 15 minute worry session like Lucinda suggests. Be compassionate to yourself and take time to do your program, make it a priority. Don't give up!

It takes time and patience, Miguel. Never give up because you can cure from this. Practice soothing yourself every step of the way and don't ask yourself when will this finally be over. Instead just welcome it all in as it is. Embrace yourself now. It's easy to love ourselves when we feel good. The trick is to love ourselves even when we don't feel good. Keep studying, and when you have finished all the tapes, start all over again. The brain needs to hear things over and over and over. Then it finally "gets it".

You'll be allright.
