Ive dealt with anxiety for 9 years.most of the time i can keep my mind busy enough to ignore it.Or at least keep it from fully hitting me. at one time i took zoloft it made me really sick so i stopped.At first i mainly had it at nights now its evolved into anytime my minds not busy.tonight i had to go to the emergency room cause i couldnt breath and my hands were curling up and my chest felt really tight.Well the doctors want me to take buspirone and iwas wondering if anyone out their has took it.I dont want to have these attacks anymore and if it helps ill do it but i cant take anything thats gonna muck up my mind or make me sick cause i work constantly.not to mention i dont want to waste the money the emergency room visits are costly enough as is.If anyone has insights please let me know.

I took it for a short while, one of my first meds, didn't do that much for me (my family doc prescribed it).

I would suggest going to a psychiatrist and evaluating your situation, TRY THE BUSPAR, and see what happens.

Sir - I've taken it and it does help. I say its a 50% help. The dosage I take is 30mg per day. You can go up or go down depending on how you feel. Let me know how your progressing!!

I have taken Buspar now for about 4 years. I started out taking 7.5mg twice daily and it worked for years. And seeing how it worked so well, I guess my minds eye thought I should add more stress you know cause I thought I was cured, whatever cured is. Then my doctor has up it to 15mg twice daily. I have tolerated it very well. I will tell you it does take about 2 weeks to get the max. benefits. I does have very little side effects, you just feel better.

I also take a very weak dose of Zanax if I need to in between doses as need and I find I do not need Zanax that much.
