I've completed the program in December and was blown away with the realization that I'd given up much of my values and ideals in order to please my girlfriend. I basically lost myself in the relationship to the point where I didn't know what or who I was anymore.
Well, to make a long story short, last month I ended this relationship, moved out, and am directing my energies toward rediscovering my values and life goals. But after two years of hanging on to this relationship, this process is not so easy. Has anyone gone through a similar experience. Getting over this is proving to be quite a challenge.

Thanks
Vin

Hi, Vin. I have had to let certain family members go. It is so hard. Even though you know the relationship isn't healthy, the hopes that you had for you and your girlfriend were real to you. Let yourself be sad for that loss.

At the same time, know that you are doing the right thing for yourself. You sound like you are pursuing other interests, and I hope some of those will put you in contact with people who can be true friends to you. Good luck!
