I am exercising to Leslie Sansone's Two mile Walk Away the Pounds. They have a walk club I might join.

It's hard for me to get started exercising but I feel so much better when I do. Joining the YMCA/or a gym sounds like a good idea and it would get me out of the house.

I have an exercise program that I really like and have been doing for 15 years. My college roommate actually had the video tape and I liked it so much I taped the video tape onto a cassette tape and just played that all the time. Now that I know the routine by heart I can play any kind of music while I'm exercising - it's normally Shania Twain, "UP" CD. It motivates me and makes me feel confident. Anyway, the video tape was called "Shape your Body, by Cindy Crawford". It starts with a little warm up, then works the legs and gets the heart pumping a bit, then arms with little 5 lb. weights, then stomach, and cool down. If I don't have a full hour to devote myself to the complete routine, I just do one set of each of the exercises and cut the time in half. Maybe they have the routine in a DVD now??

My cousin had a hard time getting motivated to do exercising at home, even with all her big equipment she bought. She joined a gym this summer and got a personal trainer and she told me it was worth the money. the trainer helped her design a workout plan that would be specific to her and help her loose the weight. My cousin said that just having a personal trainer has helped her with motivation, because now she has someone checking up on her once a month. She seems much more energetic, active, and motivated now and is lookin' good.
Exercise really does make us feel better, doesn't it. I just have to keep in mind that when it's 20 degrees below 0 outside and I'm shivering inside my living room, that I will get warm when I start my exercising.

I had a personal trainer about 15 years ago. It was worth the money. I'm having a hard time motivating myself to exercise. My daughter has a little workout group in her home. They start at 5:00 a.m. I keep making excuses, like; It's too early; They are so far ahead of me; I might embarrass myself, yata, yata yata. I know it would help. Today I am so tired. I can't sit still. I can't sleep. I am wandering around the house picking up this or picking up that. I like being outside; however, it's snowing and not a good idea. I know exercise would really help. I'm going to committ myself to 15 minutes a day, than increase. I guess it would be a good idea to pick out a time and make it part of my daily routine. I have no excuse not to exercise, I just have to make myself start. That's the big hurdle is starting. I even have workout tapes and equipment. There's no excuse for.
