Many places in this forum is discussed the subject of alternatives to medication. One of the items mentioned is something called Rescue Remedy and another is Valerian Root. I am here today to address both. I had thought when I purchased each one that it was supposed to help equilize the chemicals in the brain. As it turns out, each one's label specifically say to be used for stress relief and restful sleep. They are both effective relaxants. No doubt about that. In fact, after trying out the Rescue Remedy today{only two drops as I didn't know what it would do to me--turns out that was wise}, after waking from a nap quite some time ago, I still feel rather drugged. I will back off till it is out of my system then try one drop. But I am sadly disappointed. I will continue to use either product till gone because I refuse to waste them, but they do not do what I was lead to believe they would. It does seem that formal meds may be the way to go for awhile.

i use alternative remedies and they have really helped me, however, i used a naturopath and a dr of chinese medicine to formulate what i needed for myself. You must remember that valium is synthetically made from the valerian root (hence the grogginess etc).
it's all about what you believe in and what works for you, i have had great success with my naturopath, i follow strict guidelines as to which herbs i take (mostly in the form of a tea) and my diet, since i started, i feel so much better, no anxiety attacks, i sleep, i feel happy, perhasp placebo effect, but hey, it works for me
do what is best for you to get you through this
good luck

Hello, I did meds years ago (did great) than went off, I did the homeopathic route all under guidelines of a homeopathic dr, tried rescue remedy and now just started on meds again.

These are all my opinion of course but rescue remedy is not the solution for us. I think it's more of a placebo thing. It's drops on your tounge or water and us panic sufferers are more complex than that. The natural stuff seems to work for a lot. It did help me feel better, health wise I felt good but not enough to actually have me worry free and panic free. Meds and this program together are the best so far and my choice as the #1 winner.

Good luck.
