Doctor just started me on Lexapro today for anxiety, panic and depression. (my main symptons being anxiety and panic) Since I am so very sensitive to all the other anti-depressants I have taken and the list is unbelievable, he decided to start me out slow. 1/4 of a 10mg pill once every other day, building up gradually week after week. I am also on xanax .50 mg 4-5 times a day. Just wondering from others who have taken this med the success rates. Thanks

i have been on lexapro for over 3 months now. my doctor started me slow (5 mg) for a few days, and then once it was in my system, he increased my dosage to 10 mg. i am now on 20 mg. and i feel more like myself than i have in a long time. i still have bad days, but all in all i feel really good. when i started the medication, i felt like i had every side effect imaginable. i think that's normal, although it freaked me out quite a bit. once it was in my system, it was much better. i feel lucky that this was the first and only medication i was prescribed, and it seems to be helping me. i hope it will help you as well. good luck!

Hi-

I have been on Lexapro since Sept. I thought I had every side effect also. In fact I was going to stop taking it a few times. I am very glad I didn't. Between the program and the Lexapro, I am feeling great. I plan on trying to go off it in the Spring. Give it a good try, I have heard good things about it.

Thanks for everyone's input on the Lexapro. I tried it but couldn't stand the side effects, not only the severe headache, nausea but the inability to sleep at all at night. Guess it just isn't right for me. I wanted it to work and I probably didn't give it enough time to let the side effects subside but just couldn't go through with it. Thanks anyway, the replies did help.

Tony, you are welcome concerning your blood pressure, take care of yourself, and hang in there. Sheila
