I have been on zoloft for about 5 months now. It has helped, but I have problems with emotions. It kind of just makes me even. I really dont have ups or downs, numb is a good word. For me that is not bad considering I was on the brink of suicide when my doctor prescribed it. I take 150 mg everyday in conjunction with wellbutrin sr. If you need it, give it a chance. It takes a feww weeks to start working so be prepared. Hope this helped.......Jasmine

Hi csw~
I took zoloft for ten yrs. and i think its a very good med. if its making you feel better stay with it awhile, just dont hang on as long as i did. its a quick fix,but it doesnt do it all. work with the program ! your healing will come from within. |

I was on zoloft (25 mg0 And I loved it, but when they increased my dosage, I had an adverse reaction, which sometimes happens to people. No big deal, they switched me to paxil and I love it! I have been on paxil since the middle of November, and went from 20 to 10 mg and am still getting relief. I like that i am able to control my scary thoughts more, my depression seems to be eased (which I only got in conjunction with the anxiety), and I have not had a single panic attack. I do not intend to stay on this forever, and it is not taking away my anxiety totally. I still have a lot of work to do on my own. I was not having "emotions" either- I was always very neutral. I could cry and get sad sometimes, but I was not really my usual emotional self, which at first I did not mind but then I realized that I needed to be able to deal with things myself rather than hiding behind paxil, so that is when I switched from 20 to 10 mg. Same relief from panic and scary thoughts but with less of hte "neutral" feeling. Anyhow, if you are enjoying life on zoloft and are still working on your skills, good for you! Just remember that if you are not working on your skills any longer, then when you come off of Zoloft, you may have some problems handling your anxiety. Good lucK!

hi, csw,
I have been on Zoloft since the beginning of August and it has been great for me. I still feel some anxiety, but not nearly like I was before. I did, however, experience some pretty negative side effects for the first few weeks, but now that that's over with, I am able to appreciate how much Zoloft is helping me. Ariana |
