Hi everyone, I am currently on Remeron, but have gained 15 pounds on the last 6 months and want to change meds. The reason I went on Remeron is because of the lack of sexual side effects. Could anyone recommend another med that they have had success with in treating generalized anxiety/slight depression that has fewer side effects? I like Remeron, but the weight gain is really affecting my self esteem! Thanks for your suggestions. Smiler

Heathy,

I am not familar with Remeron but my son uses Anafranil which works very well for him.

Anafranil has many advantages. For one, it has been around for over 30 years, I believe.
It is a tricyclic anti-depressant with a great track record and can be used for depression as well as OCD.
It is approved to the age of 10!

It can come in 25 Mg. capsules and is easily adjustable.

It has a "Light" sedative which helps you sleep and acts as an anxiety med.

It is low cost.
