I started to wean off Klonopin this past Thursday. Big Grin I was taking .25mg per night and cut that to .125mg a night.

So far I have been experiencing low level headaches, head pressure, kinda a foggy/unreal feeling, tinnitus, abdominal/stomach cramping...but so far that is it. Big Grin SO far this really is not bad.

Has anyone successfully weaned off Klonopin and what was your experience. How long did it take? How did you do it and how long did it take? Do the weaning withdrawls go away quickly? I had read some horrific things about weaning, all on the internet of course, so I am just wondering what your experience was. Thanks much in advance.

Warm wishes, LizB

Hey LizB,

How long have you been on the .5? I take xanax .25 only when I think I need it, which is like never, because I'm so stubborn.
You wrote me about how I was feeling after going from 10mg to 5mg of Paxil. You were so supportive. I want to support you too but I've never taken Klono.
Maybe you went too fast? Are you alternating amounts?
I tried to email you (private message) but it wouldn't let me.
I was wondering if you could private message me? If you'd like?
Blessings,
Kristen

Hello Liz Big Grin, Have you asked your doctor the symtoms you'll get weaning off Klonopin? I'm glad to read that you are getting of this med., must mean you are feeling better, and don't feel like you need this med. for help, you must be dealing with things on your own. I would ask your doctor for all the info. you need, and see what they have to say. Good Luck! and I'm keeping you in my prayersSmiler Hey Kristen, Liz is a great supporter, so we are both lucky that she has been there for us, Good Luck to you alsoSmiler Take care, ElisaSmiler

Hi Elisa,
I did ask and was told headache and anxiety. So far headache is true, thank goodness no anxiety. (I am hoping not to experience that withdrawal symptom Wink) I am feeling so much better and feel that I can keep going without the Klonopin. Since my doctor did not even know that I had anxiety and depression to begin with and spent over 7 months and 20K on tests, I happen not to put 100% faith in her knowledge when it comes to anxiety, depression and the Klonopin and Zoloft meds. Everything else, she has been wonderful with. I have not found a decent psychiatrist and there are a very few around the area I live in. My therapist that has worked the psych ward started that it may be a rough road with the side effects. I am just hoping for the best. So far, not bad, very tolerable, even on the very edge of tolerable/intolerable, but I am not giving up! I really apprciate your support, thanks much Elisa Big Grin! I feel blessed. God Bless you. Hugs and prayers, LizB
