I was wondering if anyone who is taking Lexapro could tell me if it worked for you and if it did, how long before you could tell it was helping? I have been taking it for 17 days and I can't tell any difference at all. I know it's different for everyone, but I've read that Lexapro should start working in 1-4 weeks, if it's going to work. Also, does anyone know that if Celexa didn't help me, will Lexapro probably not help either since they are so similar? I have tried several different antidepressants in the last few years, and none have helped. I had pretty much given up on trying any others. I only decided to try Lexapro because I had read that it was supposed to work faster and have a lot less side effects. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

I started about a month or so ago on it. I feel much better, pretty good actually and yes, the side effects are minimal. It can take up to 6 weeks as everyone is different so don't worry about counting the days. Just stick with it and let your dr decide if you should stop. Don't forget our minds are pretty powerful so if you worry too much (as we all do)you could make yourself feel worse even though it's working in your system. I myself am happy with Lexapro and have only heard good things about it. Good luck to you.
