My mom wants me to try ancupuncture for my anxiety/depression but I am against it because I want her to leave me alone as far as my treatment goes.
I trust my psychiatrist, and am afraid to try a med we have been talking about for almost a year and my mother is worried about me and the side effects of meds.
I keep putting trying it off bcuz I don't my mother to criticize me, especially if it has side effects. Roll Eyes

Hi Tahirra
I have had acupunture for anxiety and yes it does work, but it is only a temporary fix. I started going for this 1 time a week for 3 weeks straight, then once every other week and finally once every 3 weeks. After each session, I did feel much more relaxed, and after going for several weeks the relaxtion feeling lasted longer and longer. I would even forget to take my anxiety med.
Then I had to quit because it was draining us financially. That's when the anxiety started coming back.
If I could have continued, I would have but it is expensive and you do need to continue the treatments. So I would say to you, if you are in a good financial situation, go for it.Just know that if you stop the treatments, the anxiety comes back, at least it did with me. Good luck!! Sheila

Hi Tahirra,

Totally agree with Sheila , found accupuncture was very helpful, Smiler it is very calming & helped me a great deal before i discovered the programme. Again i found it too expensive to have continual treatment but if i could afford it i would go every week.

PS: Thank you so much for your advice on help in the UK, you always give such positive, sound & genuine help to a lot of forum users. Smiler
Dont forget to look after yourself too! Wink

I understand your mothers worryes, My daughter is why I bought the program. Then I realized I needed it too. After I started it I could more easialy help my daughter. I took her to my holistic Dr. and the acupunctuer, and the nutrition, including the good day vitamins. has helped her get off the meds, and with this program she no longer needs to go to the psychiatrist, that put her on drugs, so she could live in her abusive marriage. She is getting a divorce and getting her life together, again she is happy again, and able to move on I thank God for this program. You are right about this being your decission, nothing will work for you untill YOU decide to do it for your own health, I know your mom loves you and is afraid for you she is your mom that is what we do. You have to do it for you knowing she is reaching out to you in love to help you come out of this mess.

Cheri keep looking up 8^)

Would you rather be worried about being perfect or enjoying your imperfections?

Hey accupuncture is great for that kinda stuff but if your afraid of the needles you can always try shiatsu. Its very hands on which is great cuz your getting that physical contact which is always nice and it works with the same methods as accupuncture. I dunno something i thought you could concider.

i tried acupuncture, it works for about 6 hours but its not like taking a xanax, which would just be much cheaper. but if they didnt pay teachers worse than bar tenders i would go for the acupuncture.
