I actually think I feel better with a little anxiety. It is my body's way of dealing with things. I take .5mg Ativan in the morning and sometimes I feel dopey and in a slight fog. That makes me more anxious. I am wondering if I should just cut down on the Ativan and ween off. It is a low dose. Or maybe I should take it at bedtime instead. I also take a low dose of Zoloft. I can't tolerate anything higher than 25 mg. And even that makes me a little wired. Right now I am taking 12 mg. Zoloft which is practically nothing. By the way, I did try 50 mg. Zoloft for about 5 months and the anxious feeling never did decrease so I figured it was too much. My doc told me to lower the dose to 25 if I needed to. Any suggestions or experience with this??? Thank you.

You need to let go of your anxiety,it turns into nothing more than a vicious circle. It's time to practice to jump out of that mode.Feeling relaxed is a change and you need to embrace it and make it a habit. In our human condition we are habitual in nature.Make the good stuff your habit. It takes time and patience. As for the medication you need to find something that you are going to be comfortable with and there's no shame in taking the medication. It maybe helping you now as you learn the skills of the program. They can work in conjuction. You can break away from meds later.Good luck and I hope I helped you through your journey to rid yourself of needless anxiety.Take care.

I would try to get off the ativan to see how you do just on the zoloft. I am on 25 mg of zoloft and feel great. I am pretty small, and I really can't handle more than 25 mg, either. When I tried 50 mg my anxiety increased significantly. But right now I am on week 5 I think of being on 25 mg and I feel totally normal. I still get anxiety but I am able to handle it. It is a nice feeling. I don't get spacey as I do when I take xanax. I decided not to use the xanax except in emergencies. See if you can try to go off the ativan (with your doctor's help!)... good luck to yoU!
