i have very high anxiety and depression. for the past year i have been drinking to the point of getting drunk or buzzed every night just so i can either go out with friends to eat or just to fall asleep. today is monday and im trying to quit. but im having some bad signs. heart palpitations. im constantly shaking and shaking my legs when i sit down. im coughing a lot and my head kinda feels like its just floating in the air. i was wondering for anyone who has had a drinking problem and has quit, have you had some of these signs or anything else that was making you feel extremely uncomfortable??? thank you very much for you time.

I usually feel like that the day after a hard night of drinking. You know, like a really bad hangover. The buzz is good at the time but the next day, I have HUGE panic attacks.

First of all, I must commend you for coming forward. I have personally experienced this to the point that I almost lost my life. I am not saying this to scare you. It sounds like you are going through full blown withdrawal. Typically, you will recover after a few days. Get fluids (water) into your body and have some potassium like bananas. Schedule an appointment to have your ammonia levels checked. It is an easy blood test. Alcohol kills cells and organs. Many people think it happens after many, many years and that is untrue! Please keep me informed or let me know if you have questions!
