Hi,
Haven't been here in a while but wanted to share encouraging news with those still deep in suffering. Things are going good. I got a job I really wanted, doing what I want and where. I went off of Zoloft with no problems and things are going well. For those who are afraid of meds or think if they start it then they can't stop (which was me), that just isn't true. I had no problems going off. I believe I can make it without the help of medication (note: some people though are not physiologically able to- so don't feel bad if you are one of those). But for those of you who don't physiologically need medication long term and are afraid your ability to choose whether you can go on or off of medication will be taken away if you go on them for short term use then just be aware that it isn't that way. You can start meds go off and be better off than you started! That is how I feel about the situation. Hope this eases some minds....... |

Great to hear from you amethyst. Was wondering where you were. Nice to hear your good news. Keep us posted.
I'm on Lexapro and am glad to be on meds again. That with my group therapy really gives me a better quality of life. Hope others will see it that way too. |

I am concerned about taking a medication for energy, to get rid of constant sleepiness and fatigue.
I want this drug because it might bring some immediate relief, but I have bad experiences with other meds my psychiatrist prescribed for me in the past (side effects). I am very sensitive, and bodily symptoms usually affect me rather quickly. I was hoping that I could handle work and school jsut being on my zoloft and valium but I know an extra boost could be very helpful. I NEED TO EXERCISE, CAN'T SEEM TO MUSTER UP THE ENERGY, AND I HATE EXERCISE, BUT I KNOW IN THE LONG RUN IT CAN HELP ME... |

I am new to posting here, but I just wanted Amethyst and Brigette to know that both of you have been very helpful and reassuring to me. Your posts are so informative, balananced and rational, especially on the subject of meds. Thank-you, Sarah

Hi Brigitte:
Nice to hear from you- I'm glad you're still here. I'm glad you have found a solution to your anxiety and all. It's not easy! Hi Sarah, I'm so glad we have been helpful. Thanks for the acknowledgement. I think what is really hard about anything that is considered a disorder of the mind/brain (however you want to put it) is that it is such a complex organ. It is hard to draw a clear cut line in the sand of what is physiological and what is psycological. I personally find it interesting how science is trying to uncover this complex system. Maybe one day it will be clearer to the medical community... they are working hard to uncover the mystery. It looks promising. |
