My 19 year old daughter is on 10 milagrams of Paxil aday, and she is doing great on it,(she is very shy and it really helps her with her shyness) Anyway she sometimes forgets to take it and she would just take it the next day and she never had a problem. Now if she forgets to take it usually during the day she starts to feel out of it, and I was just wordering if that happends to any one else? Thanks Angie

Paxil has a short 1/2 life so if you forget to take a few it can make a difference. Maybe a pill box next to her toothbrush? Good luck - hope this helps...

Wendy what does it mean when you say Paxil has a short 1/2 life? I'm just curious because I take Paxil.

Hey, Wendy:
Like Tony, I would like to know what you mean by Paxil having a short half life? Dr. started me on 20 mg. on 8-01. I'm to see him again this coming Thursday for him to check something!
Would like to hear more from you as to what I should ask him about the medication. He just told me when he started me on it that he had had good results with it.
I've felt much better in the past couple of weeks, but was doing pretty good until the last week in July, I started haaving these feelings of what semed like thoughts telling me I wanted to die, but I wasn't suicidal myself. It was all very confusing and depressing. I felt like I was looking at life from the opposite side of the mirror and I didn't like what I saw!
It is so late and I haven't been to bed, will answer your e-mail questions later today. Thanks for replying to one of my original posts.

When the going gets tough, the TOUGH get going! What in the heck does that mean when sometimes I can't make myself get out of bed to brush my teeth! And I refuse to beat myself up about brushing my teeth! My bladder is about the only thing which can make me move sometimes and because of my MS, I'm sometimes too slow! :0

half-life refers to the amount of time it takes for the drug to leave your body systems. Many drugs stay in the body days after you take them, so if you skip a dose, you probably don't feel anything. Paxil exits the body sooner, and missing a dose, you will feel the withdrawal affects almost immediately.

Thanks Wendy and Martina for the explanation about Half life on Paxil Medication. Dr. said it would take about a month to build up in my system or with me maybe a little longer because of the other 21 medications I take daily!
God's Honest Truth! I really like this site. Some of you have really dedicated time to helping others!
