Hello, haven't been here in awhile. Took a breather to be out there in the world. Just wanted to share that I flew yesterday! Finally after many years of wanting to but was afraid. I have panic attacks just like all of you. And was reallllllly scared living like this, just like all of you. With the help of my psychiatrist and therapist (who went with me!!!) I did it. I used my coginitive skills, breathing skills and meds. And I succeeded so I wanted to share with all of you, do whatever it takes. I always say........the route to take is the route that works whether that be meds or not.
For any of you that dont' know..a new book is out called Panic Attack Workbook, by David Carbonell. It's awesome and I highly suggest it. I used it along with my flight. Congrats!! Keep it up, stay positive, dwell on your achievements (as opposed to any fears), and know you can do anything, if you really want to. Its so good to hear when people have faced a fear and got through it with something learned. Thanks. If you keep challenging yourself, you can't help but heal. Keep up the excellent work, you know you can do it now! |

I want to say again, don't be ashamed to do whatever it takes to reach your goal. I feel so good about my plane ride. I feel a positive switch internally that feels great. And yes, I used meds and no, I don't care. The end result is what I wanted no matter what. The road we choose will not look the same for us all but please, go for it. dont' let anything stop you from what you want to do! |
