hi.. before i resorted to antidepressant meds, i consulted with a naturopath over the phone ( out of state) and was happy to comply with the treatment but as it turned out, it was costing me more money than i can afford not to mention that i wanted to know in detail what every single herb was suppose to be doing for me which i think annoyed my naturopath. anyway, i stopped consulting with him because he charged $80 for everytime we talked. but even though i have just started on zoloft, i am very open-minded and still researching about other venues of treatment such as nutritional therapy. i'm reading this book The Mood Cure and the author actually has a clinic based close to where i live so i have an appt. for an intake and then i'll find out how much the treatment is gonna cost. anybody out there had any success taking the nutrition/ holistic approach to treating depression / anxiety. please share. will greatly appreciate.

yes I did. Felt healther but wasn't enough for my anx/dep. Helped a "little". Meds are doing the trick for me. But WE ALL HAVE TO REMEMBER, we all respond different to what goes into our bodies. We have different chemical make ups so go off of your own experience.

Good luck.

I haven't really tried this route yet, besides seeing a spiritual counselor and getting little bits of information (juicing fruits & veggies, no caffeine, no sugar, drinking herbal teas, etc.) So I would love to learn more about what you find out! I'm not interested in taking prescription meds, although I know that some people benefit from them greatly. B-vitamins are suppose to be really good for depression. I took those and a natural multi-vitamin and noticed a difference in my mood stability. Keep us posted w/what you learn...
