Moodswinger,

I can definately see how bordem can be attracted to alcohol, to numb the pain and time that drags throughout the day, to make the time go by "faster"...but trust me, this is not the answer. I too now do not have any classes this summer...I had to change my major and the 1 class the college offers in summer is full, with 12 people on a "wait" list. Fat chance I will get in! So, my husband works 7 days per week, leave at 5:30am and comes back a 6:30-7pm. He also works Saturday, leaving at 6am and coming back 1-3pm. So I know what you mean, It can get too quiet and since I have no children, it IS too quite. I have 2 dogs that do keep me company and bring so much to the home. Can you have a dog? In my opinion, they are such wonderful companions, you can take them out for walks, they cuddle, they DO talk back. Maybe find a hobbie, painting, sewing, knitting, scrapbooking. If you would like to work, maybe work part-time, just to get out of the house. Or maybe volunteer? Maybe have a girls in the neighborhood am coffee/card get together, go mall walking with a group, go to zoos, museums, anything to get out of the house! I try to get out and do something out of the house, even if I go alone, I do not care. I just GO! I know it can really be hard to see the same 4 walls day in and day out, but what has helped me is to be certain that I change my scenery so that I do not get bored. Getting a hobby really helps too.

I do not condemn you...I hope that you can find that peace that will set you free from using alcohol. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care...post or go into chat if you need to talk...we are here. Warm wishes, LizB
