Hi Mack, When we begin to work on ourselves that scare voice or what I like to refer to as the ego thinking mind gets louder and louder and LOUDER because it is fighting for its life - so to speak. It does not want you to succeed. When we are not aware of this we fall into "its" trap and go back to talking back to it, and get depressed over it, etc, etc. The only thing you need to say to your obsessive scary voice is "Whatever". That's it. Don't get into a funck about it. That's exactly what it wants you to do. That's what keeps this voice alive and coming back. Just say: Oh, I recognize your style now and I don't have to follow you anymore." (Eckhart Tolle). Just be the Watcher of your thoughts. That's all you have to do. These thoughts lose their power when you no longer react to them. Keep practicing and keep up the good work. The very fact that the thoughts are coming at you stronger and louder is a great indication you are getting better. Please persevere. You'll make it.
