Anyone else feel like this lesson does not pertain to them? Yes I obsess but I obsess on what ifs and expectations play those over and over I don't think Ive had scary thoughts like they describe in the lesson. Ive never thought of hurting myself or someone else. I also don't think that I am surpressing anything or maybe I'm just having a hard time understanding the lesson in general. Im so confused! hahaha.

Hey TL7,
We all have diffrent variations of scary thoughts/obsessions. This program deals with a variety of symptoms pertaining to anxiety. Some have diffrent symptoms than others but the common denominator is anxiety. i really did not have a problem with anger so tape #6 did not necessarily pertain to me however, I listened and learned what I could. Don't overanalyze. Go through the program as they suggest and focus most on eliminating your particular symptoms. However, the bottom line is that the source of our anxiety lies in the belief of any irrational thought (cognitive distortion). Thus, we must work on our rational responses to counter and ultimately eliminate these thoughts. God Bless. Michael |

Thanks Michael. Ive been going through this lesson anyway. Tried to do the homework but couldn't think of anything to put down. But I read it through nonetheless. I'll take out of the lesson what I can and not worry about whether I can come up with a homework question or not.
Thanks again. |
