This is my first time participating in a chat room, but this could be very helpful! I am plagued with OCD in the form of "checking" things. This has been with me just about forever. Along with general anxiety about daily existence, I tend to have a problem with, for example, making sure appliances are off, doors are locked, etc. before leaving home (small example). Has anyone found the program to be of help with this particular mystery? Thanks very much to anyone who might respond.

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have the answer to your question... does this program help OCD... but, I can tell you that I have OCD and I bought the program hoping that it would bring some relief. I am just starting lesson 3 and I am learning to be more aware of my thoughts and actions, and when they are "inappropriate" I can intervene with something positive or realistic.

Have you purchased the program? Do you suffer from anxiety as well?

Michele

My exhusband used to do this and used this program too with me.

He made a deal with himself that worked. He would check each thing two times. I would then check it once after him and then he would agree to forget about it.

It worked for him and our new door knobs and appliance knobs lasted the rest of our marriage!!!!

Sometimes, the brain gets 'stuck'. Also, Luvox helped my hubby a lot. It may help you too. It is NOT addictive it's an anti-depressant and helps OCD sufferers.

I think if you visually give yourself permission to check things a 'reasonable' amount of times and back it up with a second opinion then you need to live in your present moment` and forget about it.

Hope this helps and doesn't sound like I think I"m a know it all : (

Hugs,

Dawn

I am currently taking Paxil for Depression, do you know if Luvox can be taken with Paxil? I also have OCD and I can't seem to kick it. This psychologist that I used to see gave me this cassette tape about OCD, kinda similar to the tapes in Lucinda's program. I never tooked that one too seriously cause I was more worried about getting over the obsessive thoughts themselves 1st, then working on my OCD. I think now it's time to do it. Any feedback would be helpful
