Hi,
I have a woman friend, Kathy, who is the girl friend of a Mayoral candidate. I never see them holding hands or showing any kind of affection and I am concerned about this. They have been going out for at least 7 months. I keep having this thought that there is another agenda here. Is this an obsessive, scary thought or is it a real concern -- she is also very shy. Let me know what you think. Thanks. Georgie |

I think different couples have their own beliefs when it comes to "public displays of affection." When someone is in the public eye (Mayoral candidate), they have to be careful because even the slightest bit of information can become fodder for others to jump to conclusions, intrude into their relationship with prying questions, etc. They might want to keep it on the "down low." Especially if they are just dating. It's not a bad idea to keep personal stuff clearly separate and private. That's what I would do. People are going to conclude what they want no matter what, so why give them any material?
