Hi ladies!

I was wondering if anyone has ever had any scary thoughts regarding pregnancy. I am currently not pregnant nor have I ever been. I am seriously for the first time in my life thinking about having a child. I keep catching myself thinking about pregnancy and then I start to do the scary "What if" thing. What if I freak out about "something growing inside of me"? I know that sounds wierd but it is something I can't seem to shake. Have any of you ladies had any scary thoughts regarding pregnancy?

Thank you!

Hi Casey...

I am a mother of 2. Being pregnant was a wonderful experience. I actually want to have another child. But I need to become more positive before I do it again. Any way...there is nothing to be afraid of...when you feel the baby move it is the most unbelievable experience ever..it's a miracle. Good luck!!

Hi Casey-

I too have had a fear of becoming pregnant. Terrified to death of the whole birthing process. However, last year I did get pregnant and I was ecstatic, however I miscarried three months into the prenancy. Now I am really terrified of conceiving. The loss sent my anxiety to "new heights". However, its been about 4 months since the miscarriage and as I go through the program I am finding that the thought of having a baby (or the chance of miscarrying again) is not as scary as what my mind is making it out to be. Many people have gone through what
I have gone through and many people have had several children and they are all fine. We have to learn to live in the now and not let our "what if" thinking rob us of our precious moments here on earth. Having a child is a precious gift from God and he has a way of working everythin out in due time.

Best wishes
Julie

I too had suffered a miscarriage before the birth of my son. Right after the miscarriage is when my anxiety started. That was 9 years ago. I had anxiety through out my pregnancy and my son is healthy as can be. It took me so long to get pregnant again after the miscarriage and I am so happy I finaly did. My oldest son is going to be 7 years old in two weeks and I have another healthy 4 year old boy. I am wanting another one too, but I am waiting until I get through this program and feel better about myself and I have a more positive look on everything!! I think I already posted to this..but I felt like sharing again..Good Luck to you

I have no children, but always looked forward to it. Then my anxiety reared it's ugly head. I have the same fears as you, but am trying to work through them. I have a feeling that anxiety about having children is probably pretty common. Try not to get caught up in the negative thoughts, it is a vicious cycle. I struggle with that myself. Isn't it funny how we know we are scaring ourselves with these thoughts, yet they feel so valid, it is hard to stop. Stay strong!
