My thoughts aren't scary, just obsessive and constant. It's like I can't turn off my internal dialog. The suggestion to "let your mind go blank" is laughable in my situation.
Last night, after one hour of sleep, the phone rang and I could not go back to sleep for the talk in my head. Nothing scary, just lists of things to do, questions to be answered, short-term plans, long-term plans, life-term plans. It's not even worry - I just analyze everything. So I got up to make lists which turns into browsing the internet. And that goes on forever! Consequently I have developed the bad habit of falling asleep in front of the TV, which means on the sofa so not to bother my spouse. I sleep great but it is not good for my sex life nor a good example for my children. Any suggestions on how to turn off my brain? |
