I feel like my son is being controled, for the last 8 months he is going from bad to worst we have just found out that a so called person who we thought was a phycrist is only a physic nurse that works in a nursing home for the age. as opur son lives 1500 k away from us most contact is by phone. we thought this guy was ligitamate but now things don't add up. he has been supplying our son with medication being mirtazapine, and neulactil he seems to be causing wedges between our son and anyone in the family, he is also spending great amounts of money on him buying him presents and taking him for weekends away. our son is also drinking while on this medication and hios moods swings are very un real, we are very concerned here as to what is going on he seems to control his every move

Hi there, If this guy is buying your son gifts and taking him away for weekends, he definitely doesn't sound like a legitimate counselor. It sounds like you have good reason to be concerned. Is there any authority you can contact to look into the situation, or at least point you in the right direction? The situation sounds like it could be serious, and better to err on the side of caution in my book.

Concerned Mum,
I wouldnt hesitate to contact authorities. You didnt mention how old your son is, unless he is an adult,, he needs supervision and not the kind this supposed person is supposed to be.
I would be very cautious as ariana said, and do what you think it best. Its better to be safe than sorry.

Yikes! I agree with the other posts. There are too many red flags to ignore. Please try to get some help from the authorities and keep your son away from this person until you can get it sorted out. Good luck!

Concerned Mom,

This fellow seems to be TROUBLE mixing alcohol with medications, spending lots of money on your son, taking him away on weekends sounds like TROUBLE TO ME!!!

I agree with the other people on the posts contact the authorities as soon as possible. This person needs to be stopped. You have every right to be concerned about your son and his welfare. Can you talk to your son about this situation? Since he lives sooo far away from you do you have a family member or a friend that is willing to check things out and help you with the situation.

Keep us in touch,

Happy Face!!!

This sounds ALL wrong!

I would get the name of this person and contact the state. If the person is registered as an RN, then that state will have them on file. I also would contact the authorities in that area. You son sounds as if he is being taken advantage of. You hear of elder prey, well this is preyng on someone that entrusted the help of an RN and NOT getting the help he should be. I hope you can get your son the help he deserves! As the other have stated, heed caution here because that "RN" may have some issue of their own. Luck to you to get this thing resolved.

Thanks to the concerns of all in regard to our son, we have been up to see him and sought the problems the guy involved was arested by the police and is now out on bail to go to court in Nov, being charged with impersonating a Dr, percribing medication and theft of medication he as also been deregisted as a Nurse,I think if parents have concerns they should follow through, and get to the bottom of what is happening. We will save a lot more of our kids.
