My 12 year old daughter has been using the program for 5 weeks now. I really see a noticable improvement in her attitude and behavior. I am sitting with her every day, listening to the audio CDs and "coaching" her with the workbook. It's too bad there's not a "kid" version of the program with other kids in the sessions. Her only complaint is that she's not like the people in the sessions, mainly because she's not an adult yet.

I know anxiety is a huge problem for kids, especially pre-teen girls. Are there enough kids that have gone through the program that a specialized program could be put together just for them?

you know that is a wonderful idea! That would be great if there was a childrens version because my children especially my oldest picks up on some of my anxiety, and it would be great to have one for teenagers because I know someone who's daughter would have great use of it, maybe Lucinda will consider it.

They do have a CD called "The Anxious Child" which I ordered because my six-year-old son has anxiety symptoms; and I did not find it very helpful. I agree they need to have a whole program for kids. What I've been doing is teaching my son the skills I am learning, like turning negative thoughts into positive ones and lowering his expectations of himself (he thinks he has to do everything perfect and is disappointed in himself if he doesn't). A workbook for kids his age that he can do himself (or we could work on together) would be great... videos with kids in it talking about how they cope with anxiety... something like that. I have several nieces and nephews at varying ages that could have benefited from a program like that (anxiety runs in the family). Hopefully, they will come out with something like that soon.

I definitely think a workbook aimed at kids, and audio CDs with kids talking about their anxiety, would be extremely helpful. I also think it is most important that kids listen to the CDs directly. My daughter is much more willing to try the techniques when she hears that they worked for the people in the session than if I try to teach her myself.

Is there any way to find out if they are working on anything like this? Is there any way to let them know there is a real interest? I know lots of other kids that would really benefit.

They have been working on a children's program for quite some time now. I don't know how close it is to completion though.
