Congratulations! I don't have any children but often worry about being able to raise one with my anxieties. I have heard several people with anxiety issues actually do better than they thought with having kids. I believe everything happens for a reason. Smiler

Yaaaay, Congratulations! I have three children. What a blessing!!! You know I have delt with this anxiety for the past 15 years, not bad until recently that I've got that yukky derealization (it's so hard to function! but I do it. some days are better than others) Anyways, My pregnancies were the best! no anxiety nothing!!! Just soooo tired. Best wishes to you and I will keep you in my prayers! Big Grin

First of all Congratulations. Second of all, I bet the distraction of all the new things you'll be focusing on and the excitement (good excitement) will probably help you. Also....if anxiety is in part from hormones, I bet you may even find relief during the pregnancy. I don't know for sure, as I've never had kids....but I'm just guessing. Keep us posted in how you are doing...by the way I go through the derelaization too.... currently I'm going through agoraphobia. I can go outside, but once I try to walk too far past my house or get in a car at all oh gosh the anxiety is outta control. I wish this stuff didn't happen to us. Here's to more tolerable days and nights.

Congrats! That's wonderful news. I've been suffering with anxiety for many years, but do have 2 great kids. Enjoy the pregnancy- as tired as you feel, it's the most amazing experience you will ever have (at least I think so!)

Congratulations!! What an amazing time for you! I do not have any children yet, but I plan on having many and I can relate to your fears. As much as I can't wait to have kids, I am terrfied about going through all of this and pregnancy. But, my therepist and many books I have read gave me some good advice. They said that many people with anxiety focus on their symptoms WAY too much and that when we have children, get married, live with someone, etc. we shift our focus to those people and those things. You will not have enough time to wallow and worry so much. You will think more of your little baby than anything else in the world (even your anxiety!). I wish you the best of luck and take care of yourself! I truly believe that you will be fine! Many people I have heard feel better with their anxiety during and after pregnancies! Take care!! Good Luck!!! God Bless!!
