When worried, stressed or busy I have noticed that I skipped a day or wrote very little. Due to limited time I haven't started the suggested positive journal.
WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO CREATE A HEALING JOURNAL? This is what I'm now doing and my journal has most definitely become a "keepsake." When I e-mail a friend on what's going on in my life, to encourage them, or something worth keeping, I print it out. If I recieve an e-mail that encourages me in any way or is an appreciative response to mine, I cut it out. If I recieve a mailed card or a note given to me that is positive I put it in my journal. I cut down the e-mails to fit and tape in the journal. I have found the e-mails I have typed are actually what's been going on and have been more detailed therefore saving my hand from writer's finger dents. HA ha. The notes and cards taped in are still a journal of what's happening and wonderful reminders. I hand date everything with the name of the person. These are taped by or near the date page I am journaling. On each page I draw happy faces that are filled in with a yellow marker on anything positive. So, even if my journal has some negative things, the positive stands out. Also, in my back pages I have an area I write down any books recommended to me for extra reading. Kinko's sells by Expert a wonderful black project planner. It is set up perfect for our journal. It has a place for the date and on the right a long boxed area. It is here that I write in how much I exercised that day, breakfast, lunch and dinner, and other important brief notes. Journal on the left. On the top line for project I write something positive about that day! Please pass on your ideas. Thanks. Sincerely, Victoria ------------------ Victoria [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 03-24-2001).] |

Victoria,
I use happy faces much like the ones used here on this site. At the start of each entry I write the date, time and a smilie. The smilies are a great guide for me to go back and see the date of my last anxiety attack for instance. Also to see what made me happy on a particular day or sad on another. I like your journal at Kinko's is there a call number? |

Thanks for your replies! Kinkos is in the United States. If its through out I don't know. It is a large 24 hour printing store with copiers and a small supply of writing materials.
The Project Planner is from Pen-Tab Industries, Inc. Front Royal, Virginia 22630 It is call Expert Pen-tab It's a spiral notebook. You might find something similar at a well stocked office supply or stationary store. Wish you both the best. ------------------ Victoria [This message has been edited by Victoria (edited 03-24-2001).] |

Hi again Victoria!
I took the liberty of copying your original post here and sent it to Carolyn because it really is a great idea. She sent this reply to me (please let me know): Would you ask Victoria if I can share her suggestion with our readers? Carolyn, This is from "Participant Questions and Support" on 3/20/01 12:07pm written by Victoria. I thought it was a great suggestion! Have a wonderful weekend! Dear Linda,
Thank you for liking my suggestion enough to sent it to Carolyn. And yes, she may share it with her readers. I changed, on my orginal post the spelling of the notebook due to an error. It is called Expert. I made a mistake in one letter. Also, note above your last comments I posted a reply that gives the full name of the notebook and who prints it. You may want to share that information with Carolyn also. I feel honored that you like my ideas enough to share them. Have a great day and keep up all the good you have accomplished in your growth. Sincerely, Victoria |
