Hi. I am just finishing up lesson 2.
I am confused..maybe overwhelmed. At the end of lesson 1..it is suggested to start reading a motivational book. Now at the end of Lesson 2 it is suggested to read "from Panic to Power" which I already have. Do I need to read 2 books at once?
Also I am down to just one cup of coffee a day, never was much for sugar so that I gave up. I had an exercise program going before I started the tapes. I do smoke but I noticed I don't smoke as much lately. I guess my question is (because it says not to look ahead to any future lessons) is can I continue to smoke? Can I have a cookie once in a great while?
All the homework at the end of Lesson 2 is a bit overwhelming...the postcard thing and the meditating every morning..remember to think this and that. I don't know if I should just go on to the next lesson or move on when I feel like I "grasped" the current lesson?
I am confused. Thanks for any help.

I think you should work at whatever pace is comfortable for you, I am just on lesson 3 and it has been tremendously helpful, I worked through 1 and 2 a bit quicker than recommended but I have already spent extra time on lesson three, it's a key lesson for me... I think it will help you not be so hard on yourself, and you can always review if you feel you didn't fully grasp lesson 2.
Don't rush yourself too much on things like smoking and of course you can have a cookie Smiler Just be proud that you have slowed down on the smoking, this program, while I can see how it is teaching me skills, I do tend to feel very overwhelmed by the whole thing.
I don't think that they mean you need to be reading two different books.. the last thing this program is intended to do is to stress you out and cause more anxiety, but they do say that it's normal for your anxiety to get a bit worse when you first start, that is happening to me, but I feel like it is still helping even though my anxiety is sometimes worse, I haven't had a panic attack in almost a week, which I was having daily, I say move on because I think lesson 3 is such an awesome lesson! I am no expert, just my opinion. Peace... Julia

Hi! When I went through the Program the first time around, I listened to the tape at least 3 times in the week, watched the video tape and did the workbook. But, I did not do all of the action assignments listed. I chose one or two that sounded interesting to me and that I thought I could handle without getting overwhelmed. So, too, when I've gone through the Program the 2nd and 3rd times, there were still "new" things to do for action assignments with each lesson. It's worked well for me to do it this way--and I've had great results with the Program! Take care.
