Sky,

Prince indeed has a web site but it's not accurately maintained. I haven't found much information there, so often word of mouth ends up being the best tool.

Sky,

I am the same way...except I didn't get to meet the bands! I LOVE concerts and miss them, but I am going to go again. Who did you get to meet? Who's your favorite group/concert, etc?

I have seen many bands and singers but my all time favorite, no matter what, was Van Halen, with Sammy Hagar! We were in the 11th row and it was just awesome (to say the least!). Yeah, I know I like a band that can't even keep the same lead singer! I have seen them 3 times now, followed closely behind by Def Leppard who I have seen 4 times now (it's nice that they play in smaller facilities now, so tickets don't cost so much! ) I have never really met any bands, but I have met a few country singers that I really liked (Suzy Bogguss for one!).

Anyway, I was just wondering... If anyone else wants to share I'd love to hear!

Take care all,
Cindy

Hi cysmith5150,
Yeah, I loved going to concerts!!! Lots of fun!!!! Ok , I'll tell ya who I met:
All of Guns and Roses-(original line up)

Dee Snider- Singer from Twisted Sister

Dave Ellefson-Bass player from Megadeth

Anthrax-Original line up

All Of the guys from Savatage..Their guitarist was at my house!!! Long story!

Fates Warning. That one was awhile ago.

Vinnie Vincent. He was the guitarist for Kiss. That was awhile ago.

A couple of the guys from Helloween.

A couple of the guys from Exodus.

Hung out with the guys from Great White.

I don't know how much you know about heavy metal/hard rock, but do you remember when Motley Crue fired Vince Neil? They got a new singer, John Corabi. Well, anyway, when Motley fired John, (they wanted Vince back)
I wrote him a letter ,and gave him my phone number and we ended up talking for over a year!Really sweet guy!Met him, when he was here w/his new band.
Also, met Bruce Kulick..He was in Kiss before the original line up got back together. He was in John's band too.He 's a really cool guy.
It's kinda weird. I remember when I was talking to John Corabi, and I remember he was telling me Van Halen had a new singer,at the time,Gary Cherone,he was telling me how good it was,and that it kicked butt!!!

As far as favorite bands go, I loved Motley Crue...Still hoping to meet them too!!
I like Meatloaf, Aerosmith, Lenny Kravitz,
Great White, Union, (John Corabi's band),
Tesla, I like the 80's bands...The stuff they don't play anymore.

Who have you gone to see?
t.t.f.n.

One song that upon reflection that motivates me is "Gone" off Madonna's newest album:

"Selling out is not my thing.
Walk away, I won't be broken again.
I'm not,
I'm not what you think.
Dream away your life.
Someone else's dream.
Nothing equals nothing.

Letting go is not my thing.
Walk away, won't let it happen again.
I'm not,
I'm not very smart. :P
Why should I feel sad
for what I never had.
Nothing equals nothing.

Turn to stone.
Lose my faith.
I'll be gone, before it happens.

Selling out is not my thing.
Walk away, I won't be broken again.
I won't, I won't fall apart.
Dream away your life.
Dream away your dreams.
Nothing equals nothing.

Turn to stone,
Lose my faith,
I'll be gone before it happens.
Turn to stone,
Lose my faith,
I'll be gone before it happens."

Dear Sky and Cysmith

Hi It's Mellie again:

I also used to love going to concerts before my anxiety got bad. I actually missed KISS's farewell tour (my boyfriend managed to get 2nd row seats!) because of my anxiety. My sisters boyfriend took my place. Needless to say, they had a great time.

Anyway, I thought it might be interesting to list some of the best concerts we have seen. So here goes.

I saw KISS a few times, but the best time was about 5 years ago right after the original memebers got back together. WHAT A SHOW

The last time I saw the Indigo Girls, they were just awesome.

I saw a band called "LIVE" a few years ago and they were absolutly amazing. Probably the best concert I've ever been to.

Honerable Mentions:
The Fabulous Thunderbirds (that one was free!)
Prince
The Ramones
Arlo Guthrie and Pete Seagar
George Thorogood
Van Halen (my first concert way back in 82)
Bush
Colective Soul
Sponge (awsome live band, I highly recomend them to anyone)
The Pursuit Of Happiness
Beck

Anyway, there a just too many more to mention.

On the other hand I have also been to a bad concert or two:

The worst one by far had to be The Rolling Stones. They played at the Metro Dome which is a horrible place to see a concert. Every song they did was one I've heard on the radio a billion times over, and they sounded terrible.

Also when I saw Heart, It wasn't very good. However this was not the bands fault. Ann Wilson was superb, as I knew she would be, but Nancy Wilson wasn't there because she was at home having a baby. Also, there was something wrong with thier equipment. The music kept fading in and out.

Anyway, I better quit now so there is room for someone else to respond.

Talk to ya Later! Mellie
