I would like to know why I did not hear from anyone when I sent in my final lesson of the program. Usually I got some feed back and that time I didn't. I completed it several months ago. I did receive a letter a few weeks ago asking me how I was doing and would I write a letter. I wrote a letter and sent it along with the material from the last lesson. Just a little curious.

What a great program this is and it did help?

Hi Midge!
I'd like to know how you're doing. How has your life been since you completed the program? How are you feeling on a day to day basis now?
Btw, hats off to you for completing the program! Good for you!!! YOU DID IT!
I want to feel good again too, so I've decided to start at the beginning of the program again...I'm right behind you, Midge.
Take Care,
Sky

Hi Sky
Thanks for your response.

I am not doing as well as I had hoped. I am trying to work my way through the program a second time. I still can't let go of the worry and "what ifs". For the most part the anxiety is better and the depression. The program was well worth the money. I am glad I did it and do use a lot of what I learned. Sometimes I forget to use it when I am really stressed. I need to use the self talk more.

I have some tests I have to go through with a doctor for a disease I have and I am so afraid that I want to cancel my tests. I am dizzy and nauseated all the time since I found out on Friday that I have to have them done. I have Meniere's Disease and the tests I am having done are to see how my balance system is doing. They are suppose to make you dizzy and most of all I do not want to be dizzy. Have enough trouble with that! I would be so humiliated if I actually do throw up during the tests. Getting sick in front of people is one of my biggest fears.

I have to fly in few weeks and that is another big challenge for me.

Congratualions to you too for finishing the program.

Midge

Hi Midge,

Have you completely quit caffeine, alcohol, and sugars?

I ask this because, though I haven't been diagnosed with your disease, for many years I had ringing in my ears, buzzing noises, water bubble sounds, etc., in my ears. When I got really focused on eating better it all went away.

I've had those tests that make you dizzy, too. They suck!

Hi Midge, I had those exact tests you are talking about many, many years ago. When i was twenty-one, after an enormously stressful time....i had given birth and given the baby up for adoption, then married and moved to the Middle East. When i arrived there, it all began. I suddenly, without warning, found myself lying on the ground...NO BALANCE WHATSOEVER! After a few months, we had to return home to Montreal. (i live in Toronto now)My husband (he is my X now, but we are great friends) had to carry me around, i kept falling, nothing helped. When i lay down, the bed seemed to be moving, the celings, everything. And most of all, me! I saw many doctors, and finally, when back home...an Ear,Nose and Throat Doctor told me i must have Meniere's Disease or an Inner Ear Infection and then began a series of those tests you are speaking of. I am guessing you're talking about the water being drained into the ears, right? I want to tell you what i think about this, because it's what i learned for myself, so it's just my opinion: I did not need to have those tests! Later on, i realized this. Because the ONLY thing they did was 'put me through something i hated'....they were not needed. So what if they found my balance was a certain percentage less on one side of my head! It didn't change anything for me, and it didn't help one bit. It didn't mean that now they would know what to give me instead! I still had to have this thing, until it would finally subside. I'm telling you this, because it 'sounds' like you have the same thing i did, and the ONLY thing i could do was to take some pill called SERC, and after a period of time, my balance returned to me. Many years later, when i was going through horrible withdrawal symptoms from Valium (took that pill for 7 yrs) the balance thing returned full-force and eventually died out. At that time, 10 yrs. later, i saw another E.N.T. Doctor, a wonderful man, who had my records from years before transferred to him and he was convinced that those tests showed no Meniere's or Inner Ear Condition....he suggested that i had been undergoing an enormous amount of stress just before this had first come upon me and he certainly was right. He also suggested that when i felt more 'in balance' emotionally, this would dissipate. He was right about that too. I forgot to mention that during that pregnancy (just prior to the imbalance thing), i had begun to have my very first, and very powerful panic attacks. I knew, instinctively, that this doctor was right in his perceptions. Now, once in a blue moon, when i am stressed in a particular way, my balance goes 'off' just a bit, and i am not afraid in the least. I wanted to tell you this, just in case it applies to you. Only you can guess if this MIGHT be symptomatic of a highly stressful time in your life. What do ya think? I really feel for you! God bless and please keep us posted. Lindi

Dear Midge,

We have been VERY behind in correspondence but not more than 4 weeks...I will look into this. Thanks for bringing it to our attention. I e-mailed a request for information so that I can look for your letter. Carolyn

Midge,
I had a very similiar problem to yours. It lasted months. Then I went to see Dr. John Sarno (The Mindbody Prescription). He has enourmous success curing people with back and muscular pain by making them attend one lecture which talks about the mind body processes and how the mind can distract a person from dealing with undesirable emotions by stimulating nerve impulses to physical locations in the body causing disabling conditions. This lecture made it clear to me that I was causing this problem. The problem magically disappeared. I was diagnosed with several different conditions prior to seeing Dr. Sarno. You might want to read his book.
