Mellie,

I noticed that Prince is on your 'honorable mention' list. I just wanted to know why.

I must say that I don't have much concert experience as some of you but Prince has rocked the house each and everytime he has been here. The last time he was here was in '97.

i like the song by destiny's child, "survivor"
every time i hear it i feel motivated and then i like challenging myself by doing something new.
Recently i went to see andrea bocelli sing at contenital arena in jersey and had a great time. It was awesome.
I also went to see charlotte church in manhattan and she was incredibule. she does have a voice of an angel like her first album is titled. she was really cool.

Sky,

You have met so many cool people! Someday I want to meet Van Halen. They have been my favorite band for years! I'm just a concert freak...I love live music.

My favorite concerts have been:
Van Halen (w/ Sammy in 95), Def Leppard (the first time I saw them in 98), Damn Yankees (I so wish they would get back together!) & REO Speedwagon, Fleetwood Mac, I missed out on the Eagles, Jars of Clay (the second time I saw them...I've seen them 3 times now), Bush, Veruca Salt (the sound sucked but it was a lot of fun!), Matchbox 20 (before they sold out), DMB, Amy Grant and Gary Chapman (he's so funny!), Neil McCoy (he is AWESOME! If you haven't seen him, you should!), Martina McBride, Trisha Yearwood, Colin Raye, Suzy Bogguss. There are probably more, but I can't think of them right now...

Concerts that sucked: Kansas (prob one of the worst concerts I have ever been to!), and right now, I can't think of too many others (but give me time! )!

I missed out on Creed and Collective Soul, and Sammy Hagar because of my anxiety So I want to see them again before it's too late! I also want to see Bryan Adams, Bon Jovi, and Journey (even without Steve Perry)...I have liked them for awhile now too. I'm into 80s rock...can you tell???

Anyway, that's my list. I love concerts, they are so much fun! One of my friends just went and saw Godsmack and said it was awesome and so much fun. I was envious of her, but I'm going to be back!

Well, take care and I will talk to you later!
Long live rock n roll,
Cindy
By the way, that was so cool that when you met John Corabi, he told you about Gary Cherone! And meeting all of those musicians...how did you do it? Do you have any tips?!

Hi everyone!!
Thanx for responding! This was a fun one, wasn't it?
Cysmith5150,
You've been to a lot of good concerts too!
I know what you mean about the 80's music,I'm still there too!LOL.I had a lot of good, good times then!
As far as meeting bands goes, I met John Corabi by just writing him a letter!Do you believe that?lol. I never, ever thought he'd get it, let alone read it and call me!I was really surprised about that one! A lot of the other bands I met were playing at clubs, which made it very easy to meet them. The guys from ( a couple of them) Savatage were hanging out at the bar before and after the show..so that was easy.Guns and Roses were playing at a place here called Music Hall which is very, very, big and I didn't think we'd get to meet them.Well, long story short, my friends and I just hung out by the backstage door til they came out.Which by the way, was a long time!!LOL.Slash is so, so, funny and cool, I really liked him! He gave me a bottle of Jack Daniels!Of course, this was a long time ago, it was right before G'N'R really hit it big.Axl, by the way, was such a jerk. He's a walking time bomb. We met Fate's Warning at an in-store.Do you remember those??LOl We met Dee Snider the same night we met Guns and Roses.
He's really easy to talk to and down to earth. He was one of my favorites!
You have a better chance of meeting bands that play at clubs. If they play at an arena, it's really hard.I've never met anybody that played an arena.
Hey, it's too bad we don't live closer to each other, we could go to concerts together!

Hi Blex!
The only song I really know by Savatage is, Hall of the Mountain King. It's so funny that you mentioned Sav because they were just here last month!Needless to say, I didn't go.My friend really likes them. It's not that I don't,it's just that there music is really, really different and unique.Did yu know that Zak and Al Pitrelli are out of the band? Not sure who replaced them.Oh, but I do like Trans Siberien Orchestra.Did I spell that right?lol. They were here in Dec., I think.
Chris Caffery I didn't like very much at all and neither did my friends. Johnny Lee Middleton was so down to earth and easy to talk to.He remembered me and my friends from the last time we saw them!Oh, I have pic.s too from the show and when we met them.
Anyway, I babbled too much here!LOL.
It's interesting to see what kind of music we all like, isn't it?This is fun.

i dont think Ive had a song inspire me But we listen to all kinds of music here at home.
Im a very big Beatles fan and Ive got evrything theyve recorded, I can sit and just let my whole collection play all day including Paul with Wings, and George (solo) and Johns greatest hits. I also really like
Glenn Miller , Fleetwood Mac
Muddy Waters , Doors
Stevie Ray , Johnny Cash
Simon and Garfunkle
Creedance , Janis Joplin
Elton John (his older stuff)
BB King , Primus , Bee Gees ,Stevie Wonder
I like alot of 70's music and 80's
when I listen to music from the 80's I reminise about all the times i went out dancing at the clubs with my best friend. I didnt have panic and I was in great shape! when i hear those songs I close my eyes and try to pretend to go back to those days. I was feeling great back then.
All night we leave the classical music station on and thats what we sleep to. sorry but I dont like Rap. It doesnt sound like music just noise. theres a few funny rap songs but when I lived in the bottom apt 3 years ago, the boys upstairs were headed towards the gang life and they played rap when their mom wasnt home and the bass would pound not only my walls but my heart would pound and race. I didnt know I was having panic attacks then so now when i hear rap, I cringe because of those memories.

Sky,
Thanks for the info...although most of the bands I enjoy are kind of big now. I'd really like to meet VH and Collective Soul. I love Eddie (although he seems to be kind of a jerk)...his guitar playing kicks major butt! I also like Ed Rolland from Collective Soul...he writes awesome songs. I doubt if I sent either of the two bands I would meet them (see, nice negative attitude! LoL!) But seriously, they are too big now that they wouldn't. I emailed Valerie (cause I had her email address) and asked her if she would have Eddie send a friend of mine's (who is also a huge VH fan) a birthday card since his bday is the same as Eddie's. Yeah right, that never happened! That's the closest I have been to meeting my fave band. The only other singer that I rememeber meeting and I enjoyed meeting was Suzy Bogguss. She is from around where I grew up, but was kind of big at the time I got to meet her. Other than that, I have never gotten to meet any bands... Guess I need to start hanging out at clubs! Well, thanks again for the info. I look forward to talking to you in the future!

Cindy

A few gospel songs that Willie Nelson and Hank Williams sang.
But one particular song that gets me inspired is the "Eye Of The Tiger" from the "Rocky" movies.

"Always" by Atlantic Star. One day I will sing it to a woman and she will feel it and understand it like I do. And, that just might be my second, (and LAST) wife!

In a more general sense, I am the last person in the western hemisphere who will admit to liking, (try not to wretch, now!), Disco!!!!! I can't help but grin when I hear the Trampps, Bee-Gee's, Isley Bros., etc.... It brings back memories of a time in my life when things were much simpler and happy!

Simply this....anything by Jim Brickman! He's a wonderful pianist, and I constantly get "chills" from his music.

Frank,

DISCO is great and very fun to dance to! You can act like a big dork (in my case) and John Travolta your way through Stayin Alive or do the YMCA with the Village People! Anyway, don't knock Disco...it has it's time and place!

I like "fruity" 80's music also because it takes me back too... Tiffany was my favorite when I was growing up (don't laugh!). I love listening to the stuff I grew up with...when times were simpler! I sound so old Anyway, I won't knock Disco as long as you don't knock 80s music!

Talk with you laters,
Cindy
