Good luck to you. I also suffer with panic attacks. Since starting the program about 3 weeks ago, after session 2, I have not had a full blown attack since. I still have to deal with the whole traveling long distances, but I am just about ready to try! Yikes.....It still scares me just thinking about it. Anyway, we are here when you need to talk.

This is the beginning of your new life! Stick with it. I just started Session III and can begin to see my skills taking effect. I've certainly got a long way to go, but it's working! My panic attacks have decreased and my anxious thinking is beginning to fade. It's a wonderful feeling to finally see the light at a distance....and you will be there soon!

Hello, I'm on week 3. Negative thinking is my worst bad habit. I've tried this before but I didn't have the time to devote to the program fully. This time, I've stopped working and I'm taking the time to do the work, I've started exercising and eating better because I want to be better.

Adam,

I have the same problem. Last week, was in general pretty good overall. Some days I didn't even take my Xanax, which I take in a small .25 dose once a day. However, today has been somewhat anxiety provoking for a reason I can't determine. I guess the thing I need to do is focus on the good days and I wasn't always like this..until all my children were deployed to the front lines of Iraq at the same time. The thing that baffles me is that now that they are currently home safe and sound, I'm having anxiety for no apparent reason! Reading the Psalms and praying often brings relief from worry and anxious thoughts for me. I have met many others with this disorder when I have had the courage to open up to others and knowing that they got through it is an encouragement. It is true that others don't realize you are having anxiety attacks..everyone thought I handled the time my kids were deployed so easily, but I was struggling sometimes on a daily basis. It was only the grace of God that I made it and only then by realizing that only He could protect them. Smiler I have also found that people in Al-Anon struggle with similar issues-worry, control, what if thinking and this helps me with the people in my life who have been affected by alcholism.

I am struggling with the program so far. Does anyone else have trouble staying awake during the sessions? I think it's probably okay to fall asleep during the relaxation tape, but Lucinda's voice is so soothing to me that I keep falling asleep on the other tapes as well. Also, can you watch the cd's on the computer? I was under the impression that I would be watching dvd's and the sessions would be in movie format. I'm open to suggestions.
