I haven't finished the second session cd, I listened to only half but noticed that the male physician talked about panic attacks effected your weight and appetite. First question is, is having that constant tightness and adrenaline rush the same as a panic attack? The panic attack sounds much more extreme but I am asking because I know that when the hormone cortisone is released (during panic attacks) is affects appetite but I'm just having the constant tightness and often running off of adrenaline. The problem is I'm hungry all of the time especially after anxious episodes. I eat really healthy and I have to just guestimate that I've eaten enough because I never feel full but after these surges of adrenaline and worry, usually at night, I am severely hungry even an hour after I've eaten a full meal. I thought about asking my doctor whom I'm seeing Thursday about getting my cortisol levels checked. Also, I have not finished the session 2 cd itself, so I know that later sessions may talk about this. I am just really scared of gaining weight because often I have to wake in the night and eat because the hunger is so bad...but trust me I've eaten plenty of food during the day, I know it is associated with the anxiety, although it was always a problem before the anxiety, just not as bad. Any advice would be great. I am going to finish the second session cd today.

BassGirl08:
I think that it is an urgent idea for you to get your blood sugar checked.
It is easlily done.
You may be alright. But it sounds like symptoms of diabetes.
However only your doctor will know.
I guess many things could cause one to be ravenously hungry. However. both high blood sugar and low blood sugar causes such symptoms.
I wouldn't know except that I am diabetic.
Best of luck.

Oh yeah, When doctors put me on anti-depressants
years ago - I was forced to eat all time. They put me on Triavil. That was a combination medication. It had the old anti-depressant of Elavil in it and a tranquilizor. That was in the '70's. I gained a huge amount of weight.

I thought for sure somebody else had this problem after anxiety attacks. I had some blood tests done a few months back and everything was normal but I'm going to the doctors tomorrow and will insist on more blood tests just to rule out any other cause. It may not seem like a big deal but it is so severe it keeps me from sleeping most nights. The medication I am on is weight neutral, so it is not supposed to have any effect on my appetite. I think some of it is anxiety induced but it was always a problem before the anxiety. Anyways, thanks for the response, I thought I would ask! If anybody else has this problem please let me know! Thanks guys, keep on pushing. Hopefully by the end of this program once I get the necessary tools for conquering anxiety the appetite will fall into place. It just scares me when people on the internet say that chronic stress leads to weight gain, now I obsess over these things I read on the internet.

Hello!Yes I have experienced the same thing. It happend about two years ago.I ended up gaining about 20 lbs.!I was constantly hungry.I literally was eating all day!Never felt full.I went to the Dr. had blood work done everything came back normal.I doubted them for awhile on this but finally realized that it wasn't physical.I started to change what I was eating and disciplining my mind to realize that I didn't need to eat more than 3 meals a day and a small snack if I get hungry in the afternoon.I lost the 20 lbs.!Try eating more protein and fiber. It really helps.I know how awful this feeling can be.I was really worried.I hope that I've helped you. Please don't worry or keep getting more tests if the ones before came back normal.I think that when the anxiety gets so high and all that adrenaline releases it makes us hungry because our bodies are on active mode. You know when you've been really active you'll get hungry.Really practice on relaxing and refocusing your thoughts. This too will pass.Take care and God bless! If you need more help on this PM me.
