Finding A Better Me |
I have anticapatory anxiety and I'm working on controlling my anxiety levels so that I don't experience panic ever again. My big thing is anticipating what will happen each time I want to venture out on my own. Did anyone get to this point and if so how did you accomplish getting out traveling on your own long distance? Thanks

Wow.
This post in and of itself brought up so very much anxiety in me and I am shocked no one has responded thus far. I have OODLES of anticipatory anxiety. Since these panic attacks are back in my life again (after several years of really not having to deal with them), I seem to be the Queen of What If's. Too shaky to write much more. Going to do some deep breathing and do a google search for some good jokes for distraction. Again. Wow. A simple question and mega anxiety. Best~ Shelby |

Welcome,
I use to have panic attacks so bad in 2000. My panic attacks got so bad I developed social anxiety. I started being afraid to be around alot of people, then i stopped going out period. I started counseling, starting reading up on anxiety and i started taking different meds to see which one would help me. I started back up this New Years with anxiety attacks after eight years. Started the program and the first thing Lucinda tells us is that we are in control. Panic attacks starts with us and they end with us. Continue the program, things will hopefully ease up. Try the breathing, the relaxation cd, listening to your favorite music, looking at funny movies, whatever gets your mind off your racing thoughts. Good luck and I wish you well. |

Hi - I wish I had an answer for you but I am in the same boat. I just wanted to say Hi and to let you know that you are not alone. I have been working the program for 8 weeks now...if I have an epiphany I will let you in on it.

I have been out of the program for some time, and yet I still have anxiety some times. HOWEVER, DON"T LET THIS SCARE YOU. I am no longer afraid of it's affects. Therefore, it doesn't last long or hinder me from doing what I ant to do. Anxiety is a natural part of life. EVERYONE experiences anxiety. You will learn how to deal with anxieties side effects as you progress through your journey. Please, don't allow the fear of the unknown future to sabotage your present progress. Start small and expand your comfort zone peroidically. Unless it is absolutely necessary, you need not push yourself so hard to achieve your goal. Take a deep breathe and give yourself praise for aspiring to goals like this. You will know when it's time to make your move and you will succeed. I am living proof.
