Hi can anyone tell me how to get rid of the shakey feeling i have when i get up first thing in the morning. It goes away after awhile. Is the shakey feeling part of anxiety?
Unless you have a blood sugar issue, then yes it's part of anxiety. Your body has been resting all night (hopefully) and when you awake your subconscious, which is such a perfectly trained beast, says, "No no no. We can't have peace! It's time to start panicking again!" And so it's very common to wake up with one of your anxiety symptoms or even a full blown panic attack in some cases.
Try having something by the side of your bed to munch on, just to see if it's your blood sugar. The other thing to try is your relaxation tape - what a wonderful way to start your day, don't you think?

I have the shakey feelings from low blood sugar, but I, also, have had in the past and still do have sometimes, the shakey feelings from anxiety. At one time, I had it so severe that my eyes even "shook". I can't explain exactly how that felt but I was terrified. I thought something really severe was wrong with me. But, it was just an anxiety symptom. Just keep telling yourself that.
It is a good idea to get blood work done to see if you have a low blood sugar problem. I have Diabetes.
Oh my, 6- 24oz. bottles of Pepsi a day??!! I am soooooooo glad to hear you gave that up! LOL I can't take caffeine. It makes my heart race and I feel like I will die. Take care.
Love and prayers, Tina

Part of the problem is your body releases chemicals while your sleeping to wake your body up. The chemicals are the same chemicals that also are released during an anxiety attack so your body and brain may misinterperate them. You need to find something to get in between your thoughts and how your feeling. I can sometimes break it up by repeating "thoughts only thoughts' in my head. The worst thing to do is lay in bed, you need to get up and get moving or sometimes just switch to a different bed helps me. Isn't it fun?!? It will go away.
