Is it possible to have your allergies heightened by anxiety? I have had allergies all of my life never have they been this bad. I have extreme anxiety that has affected me. For the past 6 months both my anxiety and allergies have been out of control.

Dear Lisab

I have the same problem. I also have a theory about this. People with anxiety have very sensitive nerves. I think this sensitvity can magnify everything, including allergies.

I have found that as I go through the program, allergies and other things don't bother me as much as they did before I started the program. Also, I noticed that before I got the program I got anxious about everything, such as a headaches, toothaches, allergies, ect... and this anxiousness whould in turn magnify the original problem, ie.. headaches, allergies ect...

I have also heard allergies can sometimes bring on sypmtoms of anxiety as the symptoms of both can be very simular. They both can give you hives, and headaches, make you feel like you are having trouble breathing, and make you feel spacy, among other common traits.

Keep this in mind when you are starting to feel these symptoms. And remeber, neither hay fever or anxiety can hurt you. They can only make you feel uncomfortable for a little while.

Good Luck, Mellie
