For this i'm looking for 1 goal at a time with a plan of action to achieve that goal. Also the results of that plan and when you achieve that goal. The purpose of this thread is to cheer people on to achieving their goals because in the beginning its hard to motivate ourselves but if you have people out there who know your goal and believe in you it makes it alot easier. You can also ask for advice as to some things you can do to accomplish these goals if you get stuck.

It isn't black and white so i don't expect people to always follow their plan. If you drift away from it just pick yourself up and try again. The real part of failing is giving up completely.

You learn to scribble before you learn to draw. I don't expect you to pick up a pencil for the first time and draw me a Mona Lisa.

I'll start it.

My goal is to spend this next week getting 9 hours of sleep everyday.

To do this i'm going to write out a plan of the things i need to do and get them done first and then have the rest of the stuff done after and if i can't get it done then oh well. Also i'm not going to eat anything 2 hours before bed especially starch or sweets (honey). Finally i'm going to listen to my relaxation cd just before i go to sleep so my body is all loose and my mind is calm.

My goal, which has been for the past 4 weeks is to get my bedroom & hallway carpet steam cleaned. I have the darn steamer upstairs ready to go, but I just have not had the time! Today, hubby is upstairs, sick and sleeping! UGH! If it is not homework, it is something else! Razzer

IT WILL GET DONE, ONE WAY OR ANOTHER!!!!!! Mad

Oh yeah, hubby said the washing machine is ready to cease (really the motor and all) so I have to go shopping for a new one! I hate appliance shopping and the pushy salespeople! They remind me of car salespeople! Roll Eyes(no offense to anyone Wink)

Mike Excellent post!
I think of goals in five areas.
1). Physical
2). Emotional
3). Educational
4). Personal
5). Spititual
For my physical is to move more and get away from the computer

Emotional - Rationalize my thoughts - and think of the fallacies behind fear.

Educational - to finsih my masters and move onto my Doctorate. I have one semester already down!

Personal - Be more patient with people. Share my humor and experiences.

Spiritual - To let my spirit resonate to others so there is no doubt that I am a Christian.

My goal is to work toward getting a job.
There are two positions that I'm interested in at a local university. For those I want to revise my resume for each position. Also, they ask that a cover letter goes along w/each resume. Also, the recruiter at their human resources offices invited me to send her a copy of a resume.
I also have an application for a local movie theater that I would like to fill out and deliver.
In the meantime I would like to contact the director of a program that has a position that I don't believe suits me.
Thanks I needed this.

Physically-hey you can always try some tai-chi lessons or something active with a group of people

Emotional-sounds like your already taking ahold of that, journalling only furthers that and negative replacement on paper

Educational-awesome good job. Enjoy the journey

personal-you already share your humor i noticed Smiler again journalling with the patience

spiritual- well i already get that sense that you are. Ask yourself how can you further that?

You seem to have lots of ideas. Maybe if you don't mind me suggesting, why not get some people from one of those resource centers to help you construct a resume, they are good.

valid goal. My goal with that was to get confirmation that people understand whats going on. It has nothing to do with getting people to like me. You might be right that i need to work on my self esteem but i don't understand why you felt the need to say that could you explain that to me?
