Things worth remembering or writing to help anxiety and depression!
Im reposting this because I wanted to re-word it and post it on different forms ..... Please reply with you own Ideals for THINGS WORTH REMEMBERING I think this will be good I believe somewhere in our lesson book it says to write down things worth remembering. I think the reason the lesson says to do this the things we write can help us with our anxiety and depression. When we do or think about the things we write we become - more positive. It can help us to hang in there when were depressed. To remember tips that can help us feel less depressed and or anxious. To remember that we can build our confidence/self-esteem through the things we write which in return helps us handle or get rid of our anxiety and depression!!!!! Well I was replying to a post in the humor for anxiety and as I was typing I decided to put up a post it note so I could remember to find some humor and laugh everyday. Well I think this is worth sharing and everyone could join in with stuff/ ideals that are worth remembering!!! Of course some things are privet and keep those just for you, But I think we can share some things and it can be good for us. So heres some of my things that I feel are worth remembering Laugh everyday Rent a funny movie, watch a comedy special, get a joke book try the comics, and tell a joke ask some one to tell a joke (that can be funny all on its on LOL Give your self-credit Another big one for me, Pat your self on the back we here building our life skills through the lessons and these posts, and tell your self good job, we are worth it! Write down 3 positive things a day Even when its hard to think positive you can say Im glade I dont have a black eye or wow my Finger doesnt hurt, or the sun is resting (LOL) Move it meditation/ lesson 2 pg. (2-16) I try to do mine on the tread mill (I use a special three word pattern along with the other lesson hints) Take a 10-minute break from your stress Set a timer and Go lay on you bed, go out side a watch the birds, or play a game with your kids Take care of your self Take a walk, eat better take a bubble bath, play some music, cut your toenails (LOL) Read a spiritual book or story A prayer book, Any positive religious book {you choose}, chicken soup for the soul, poem, native teachings, a book about true life triumphs Do something different Drive a different route, eat at a different time, set somewhere else, redo your hair Housework done incorrectly- still blesses your family This is a big one for me but Im learning! Some trash picked up is better than none, 4 washed dishes are 4 less than to do, one swiped floor is one clean floor. & One less to sweep. So this counts when the kids dont clean the way you like at least its better than nothing. Or for my sometimes-low energy - I try to give my self-credit for any thing I do or pick up etc. Share with others Give food to a charity, share your feelings, share a positive thought, and share a cleaning tips, or a parenting tip or JUST SHARE A LAUGH WITH SOMEONE DIG IN AND PUSH FORWARD |

Hi Frosty,
Sounds to me like you are a flybaby. How about this one: 'I can do anything for 15 minutes' For me, I made an audio cassette to listen to with the things I want to remember, such as the ones you listed. (I got the idea from the Shad Helmstetter book). Good luck with your recovery, Curly |

Curly:
Thanks for the reply. Yes I'm A FLYBABY {BIG TIME}....... I had someone on this forum tell me about the flylady about 3 months ago. It is a great source of support and skill building. I really need it. The group works great and is a wonderful tool along to use along with this program. It is very late, and as they say I better go to bed I need my rest. Take care.................... |

Hi, I found out about this very helpful wesite from someone on this web site. Ok let me start again the flybaby term comes from the flylady web site. A flybaby is a new member. Flylady I guess would be the host of this site that offers support, guidance, and home cleaning and organizing tips and much much more. It has been a great help to many people and I'm just learning/flybaby I feel I'm a big time in need of guidance flybaby. I'm very thankful for this site. See for your self it may or may not be for you. A good tip would be to know you could tailor the advice to your own needs etc. go to www.flylady.net |
