I have a son that is quadriplegia from a diving accident and I don't know how to help him anymore. He is stubborn and drinks alot and his smoking has caused him to be in bed for 3 yrs. due to bed sores. I see him deteriate at times and wonder how long he will live. I want to run away at times cause I feel helpless and tired. He disrespects my values and my beliefs.

Shella, wow what a brave strong women you are to share your pain. I am so sorry about your son. I think that children take out their frustrations on thier parents,just like we take out our frustrations on the people we love. He loves you I am sure and does not mean any disrespect to you. He is probally really hurting inside. I can only imagine the pain on your whole family. Be strong, find faith in god and know that it will be ok.
