HI!
I THINK WE NEED SOMEWHERE TO TALK ABOUT OUR DREAMS.DREAMS R SO SIGNIFICANT TO OUR WAKING LIFE, AND NEED TO BE ADDRESSED JUST AS MUCH AS OUR OTHER PARTS OF OUR LIVES, IN FACT IF WE HELP OURSELVES FIGURE OUT WHAT OUR DREAMS MEAN WE HAVE A BETTER CHANCE OF HELPING OUR ANXIETY,AS THEY ARE LINKED TO EACHOTHER.THE LESS ANXIETY WE HAVE THE BETTER WE SHOULD SLEEP.THANX FOR LISTENING
TAKE CARE

Sup Trin. This is Chuckster. I can tell you that ALOT of my recovery is due to the fact that before I go to bed each night I replay my vision for the future in my head. Some are more realistic than others but still. I am mostly recoverd and nowt that I am doing so well I am starting to succeed alot due my dreams. Cool, huh.

very good suggestion!

Nightmares especially are closely tied in with panic disorder and those feelings of bewilderment when we wake up from a bad dream.

The book, The Power of your Subconscious Mind." is a wonderful book that talks about how we can utilize our subconscious minds before bed to come up with answers to our questions or problems. Our dreams teach us things, give us messages, and can help us figure things out at times!

Has anyone been using their program skills in their dreams??? I have! I had a dream last night that I was encouraging this girl who had bad anxiety disorder to get on this program.I also had a dream that I was afraid to walk out on this boardwalk by a restaurant alone, but I talked myself into doing it and stayed positive.I also woke up this morning being positive right away [ not the norm for me.] I normally would have gotten upset at myself for getting up at 11:30, but I told myself,''No,sleeping in was MY desicion, I had some positive dreams, and plus it's cold outside.I will have a good day even though I woke up late.''Now LAST WEEK I had a nightmare about being lost out on the roads near a wooded area, and I DID panic, but then I woke up with panicky feelings. But hey, that was LAST WEEK, and THIS WEEK has been much better.

I have found that when my anxiety and/or depression is at a crisis point I go for long stretches not being able to remember dreaming at all. Getting off caffeine (well, coffee and diet Coke at least!) and sleeping better has really put me back in touch with what I've been dreaming about. I suppose some of my worst nightmares have been anxiety-related -- realizing at the end of a whole semester that I have been enrolled in a class that I haven't attended or studied for at all...or sitting on a toilet smack-dab in the middle of a crowded room (ooo, I hate that one). But the positive, good dreams are so much more vivid when I've been sleeping well. Anyone else have a similar experience?

I totally believe in the power of dreams and the messages they give. I have a book on dreams, and it does tell you that you can tell yourself what to dream before you go to bed, and I have found that this does work, I've tried it, it's amazing but it's not the answer to everything.
I would like to hear from others how they've used their dreams to help them get through anxiety! post back people! Wink Razzer
