Do any of you find that when you fall asleep accidentally during the day for a while or something ...maybe a hour to 3 you wake up with horrible cramps and you get irritable bowel pains? I got up early for church but i was still tired..came home and fell asleep for about a hour and i just had a very painful bout with it. Musta been on the toilet for like 20 minutes and some of the pains were so bad I felt like I was going to black out..I mean i've had this before but I'm wondering if anyone else gets this.

Hi Krista, I to know the pain of IBS. I feel like im having labor pains again sometimes, and then am in the BR for a long time to. It usually happens when my eating habits have changed. Also it can be caused by a nervous stomach...hope this helps some, such a lovely topic I know! LOL

IBS is awful.You may go months or even years without symptoms and yes anxiety makes it worse. Ive had it since 1998 and it sucks. Sometimes barbque or even mexican food can trigger mine, or sometimes anxiety. I had mine diagnosed several years ago and didnt have any more problems till this year. I had diarhhea several times a day everyday and horrible stomach pains. Do yourself a favor, go to you doc and have it checked out. There are things that can help you. Take careNelly

honestly i've had IBS since i was 8 or 9...I'm now 22....it wasnt so bad during my high school years but lately its been bad again but the point of starting this thread is mainly i seem to get it when i fall asleep during the day and then wake up...i cramp up and i get IBS and i just find it a little weird.
