I have had IBS for over ten years now. I don't mind having it because I only have flare ups about every two months or so. The part I hate is you feel like you have to go so you go to the bathroom but once you sit down you can't go. You start getting sweaty, shaky, dizzy and feel like you are either going to throw up or pass out. I have had this happen so often, and yet it scares the heck out of me every time. I feel like I'm dying when it is happening. I have it so I have to deal with it, but I sure wish and pray it would be taken away.

Wow, you know I don't have IBS but I do have the fear of passing out on the toilet. (I also have a fear of puking, but there's not much I can do about that one.) When I feel like I have to go really bad I freak out and don't want to go. Well of course I HAVE to go, so it's always a big deal for me. Especially if I'm not at home, I HATE using public toilet facilities. I get dizzy and feel weird. I'm sorry that you have this problem, but I feel kind of relieved because now I know that I'm not alone on this.

Sherileigh,

I hear ya sister! I have IBS-C, and have been in your shoes (or toilet) many times!! I have found if I can control my constipation, then I don't have as many attacks.

Hope you find something that works for you!

What I experience when dealing with IBS is that I keep having dry heaves - as apposed to actually throwing up something. I haven't figured out yet how to control it, but I'll keep trying.

There are many good products out there to help with IBS. You'll have to feel your feelings, of course, and learn to flow with them instead of resist them (if you are practicing the program then you are already on your way).

Ayur Triphala are three Indian herbs in one capsule that keeps the energy moving during those times when you feel constipated. It keeps the chi moving in a healthy way. There are no side affects that I am aware of.

Probiotics - Wonderful for the intestines. I recommend one that is 50 billion strong - FloraMax is a good product.

Enzymes - Similase is good. You want one that helps you to digest proteins, sugars, vegetables, dairy.

Chlorophyl - alfalfa. Great for the intestines.

Ground flax seed which is your fiber and can be used in a smoothie very effectively.

There are other things out there that are very helpful. Go to your health food store and ask them.
