Has anyone had bleeding during or after a bowel movement? I'm sorry to be so descriptive, but I noticed bright red blood on the toilet paper after I had a bowel movement. I know that people who have hemorroids can have rectal bleeding after a bm but all I can think of is colon cancer!!! Help! Frowner

If its bright red, then its most likely hemorroids. There is a simple test that your doctor can do to confirm this.

yeah, and the roids don't have to be grape vines hanging out of, you. they can be small, inside, and you won't even know you had them. bright red blood is fine. black stool, or very very dark blood is a sign of internal bleeding. i have bright red blood sometimes too, but you can tell its just from, down there, because you can keep wiping and you'll see lil specks of it.

Oh yeah its a given...whenever I have one I always know by that...followed by a week of itching which is always so lovely hahaha. Up your fiber intake it should help.

I was having the same problem I started to eat more fruit, wheat bread, less red meat( a steak takes 14 days to leave your colon), more chicken and fish, total cereal, drinking prune juice, more veggies( like brocalli, cauliflower, lagunes, beans). good luck Big Grin
