Hi MonaLisa,

I have had IBS for about 25 years or more and I had alot of stomach and intestinal discomfort. Especially if I would go out to eat after I ate I would always have to run to the bathroom. I had loose bowels and diarrhea every day, intestinal cramps, intestnal spasms, and alot of gas.

Those were my symptoms and my doctors told me I would have to live with this condition for the rest of my life. I went to a Nutritional Doctor had a bowel test and found out that my problem was an overgrowth of yeast (CANDIDA). I had a severe case because I was always on antibiotics. I had hardly any good bacteria in my intestines which was causing me to have this CANDIDA PROBLEM.

I don't know for sure but unless you have been tested but your case seems like it is coming from your nerves. What would happen if you eat a small meal? Do you still have the same symptoms? I hope this information helps you.

To your success,

Dona Dry

How did you get tested for Candida? I was sure I had it because I had so many symptoms and had been on alot of antibiotics. I had a blood test done and it came back negative. But, after reading more about it, sounds like it's tricky to diagnose.

Has anyone tried the new yogurt for digestive health. Activa by Dannon was the first and now there are other brands (Yo plait's YO+). These are supposed to support good digestive health and the flora and fauna of the gut. I find them helpful, but you have to eat one everyday. You should also be eating plenty of grains, fruits and veg.

My co-workers can't believe how healthy I eat, and yet I still struggle with IBS. I am sure it would be 10 times worse if I did not patrol my diet. No fast or fried food or white bread. However, my downfall is sugar (ie. bakery stuff) I can't resist it and it always hurts my stomach. I tried the Body for Life diet for a few weeks and was amazed at how much better I felt (no bloating or gas). I think I am going to have to try a little harder to stick to it. ly

Hi Everyone,

I have written alot of posts about CANDIDA and what kind of test you should be taking from a Nutritional Doctor. You have to have a digestive bowel test that is the only way you will know what is going on in your intestines and bowel. A simple blood test does not show CANDIDA as it should be done unless you do the test to check the bowel. This test is the best!! You get answers and then you and your doctor can work on a program for you to get better.

As I had mentioned before if you have CANDIDA (overgrowth of yeast) you need to be on the special diet. Probably for the rest of your life because if you don't keep it under control it will only get worse, it never just goes away.

The special diet includes: No sugar (except stevia), no fruits, no breads, no pretzles, crackers, pizza, foods containing a large amounts of yeast. Stay away from all fermented and aged products including cheese, alcohol beverages, vinegar, salad dressings, pickles and olives.

There is alot of foods that you can eat I would get the book The Yeast Connection Cookbook by William G. Crook, M.D. you can order the book at your local book store and it also has a lot of great recipes.

It gets you on living a NEW LIFE with your eating habits that is a lifetime event.

To your success,
