I am losing hope. Have seen many doc's , had the colonscopy- nothing, even though they didn't make it down the end of my large intestine due to me screeming in pain. The last g.i doc I saw said it was IBS. I just don't understand how it could be I B S with blood!! Usually comes on with the runs, monthly now and i can make it go away by eating nothing but rice for a couple of weeks. But then i have to monitor what i eat and i am seeing that that is very slim pickings. He said the colonoscopy showed no signs what so ever of chrones or colitis and because i can cure it so easily there is no way it is either of those. Ya, if you want to call 2-3 weeks on rice easy... any one with any ideas going through the same??? where the heck is the blood coming from? its not hemeroids, they did the barium...

Hey there. I read you post & it was alarming. Do not give up. My husband has the same thing. He gets polyps and they bleed. Right now especially. Obviously you have one, and it is in the Large Intestine. You need to go under for them to get it..(Apparently) Yes you are bleeding. I am in the Medical Field. Do not ignore this. Its not deadly, but something is ruptured. It could heal on its own too. You should have a Hemoglobinb done to make sure your blood count is still high enough. good luck

I guess polyps would be a possibility. Are they reacurring? This has been going on for about 6 years now. I bleed, eat rice for 2-3 weeks, bleeding goes away....Diarreha is always there, then blood clears up and it is a viscious cycle once again.

If it is in fact an ulcer you may try Prevacid, or Nexium, or the generic omeprazole. These are Rx only so you may mention it the next time you go into the doctor. Also, if it is in fact IBS you may try the Rx Pamine Forte (Spelling) It's a fairly new drug but it does wonders for IBS, I've been taking it, and it has helped me to lead a normal life again.
