Recently someone recommended Aloe Vera to me to be taken internally for stomach upset. I had never heard of aloe vera being used this way before and so I did some reseach about it on the web and sure enough, it is used this way. I read that aloe vera also has antiinflammatory properties and is useful in treating arthritis too - that it's a "good for what ailes ya" all natural supplement. Has anybody tried aloe vera for stomach upset? Would love to hear how it worked or didn't work for you.

That is the first time I have ever heard of aloe vera for stomach upset. I did not know you COULD take it internally. Very interesting. Keep us posted. Tammy |

I read somewhere that Aloe Vera is too strong for people with IBS or diverticulitis. It is considered a diuretic and contains strong enzymes that can complicate matters even more so.
I recommend doing some research before considering that option. Natual herbs are not always the best option. They are natural "drugs" and if taken in excess can be harmful. I say, Please be careful and well informed before taking any kind of medicinal remedy for anything that ails you. And of course, consult your "well informed, well trusted" doctor! |

I took two tablespoons of aloe vera juice everyday throughout high school. It did help a little, I think, but I hated the tast of it! I remember it helped more with the pain (cramping) than the actual diarreah and stuff. Good luck, can't hurt to try.
